Arcane Lineage Class Picker
Two questions, one fork. Then go buy the weapon — or ignore us and take cestus anyway.
The class picker is for the moment you are standing at the Caldera shop ladder with 50 gold and a race you did not choose. It will not unlock the trainer for you. The class guide still owns those steps. This widget only stops you from buying a staff because it looked taller than a spear.
Match a weapon and playstyle to a Base Class, then see the Super Class fork.

How to read the result
The Base Class is what you can have at level 5. The Super Class names are the later fork, not a promise you will qualify. Alignment still exists. Confirm it on Trello and on the Super Class list.
If the picker warns you about Wizard, listen unless you already enjoy the bar and you have a party. Coward is not a solo passive.
After you pick
- Check the race page so the lineage agrees.
- Read the kit on the roster.
- Spend points like the builds page and the calculator say.
- Take Daze. The picker cannot do that either.
If you disagree with the answer, good. That means you have a preference. Buy the weapon you will actually swing for ten levels. A “correct” Paladin you never play is a worse build than a “wrong” Thief you like.

Power arguments live on the class tier list. Patch changes live on Updates. The picker only maps the five town weapons. If a seasonal trainer appears, Trello wins.\n\n## Weapon paths in plain words\n\nSword is Warrior. You stand in front. Pommel Strike can stun. Paladin is the party fork; Berserker is the selfish one. Take this if you want to learn slams with a shield-shaped excuse.\n\nDagger is Thief. Blind, bleed, extra gold. Assassin deletes a named target. Rogue brings tools. Take this if a friend already holds the front and you can stay alive long enough to apply status.\n\nSpear is Slayer. Poison wants long fights and a clean yellow habit. Impaler is the hole. Saint is the support-shaped spear that is still not Paladin. Take this only after Space is a habit.\n\nCestus is Martial Artist. Best first character. Blocks forgive chip. Monk keeps friends alive. Darkwraith is the ego fork. Take cestus if this is your first life and you have no party plan.\n\nStaff is Wizard. Second minigame plus Coward. Necromancer and Elementalist sit in the back. Take this on a second character or in a group that already has a body class.\n\nThe picker encodes that paragraph as two dropdowns. If you already know the paragraph, you do not need the widget. If you do not, use it once, buy the weapon, and close the tab. The class unlock guide is the next click, not another theory tab.\n\nA race that hates your pick is a Lineage Shard problem after level 10, not a reason to stand in the shop rewriting the dropdown. Play the class. Then reroll.\n\nIf two friends already locked Warrior, take Thief or Slayer and stop arguing with the widget. The picker is a tie-break for a solo shop trip, not a vote that overrules a party that already has a frontliner.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
Does the picker unlock a class in-game?
No. It only recommends a path. You still buy the weapon and talk to the trainer at level 5.
Why did it tell me not to take Wizard?
Wizard adds a second minigame and wants a party. If you already have both, ignore the warning.
Can I change the answer later?
Not with a free respec. Another slot or a shard wipe is the real redo.
Should I reroll if the picker disagrees with my friends?
No. The widget is a solo shop tie-break. A party that already has a frontliner wants Thief or Slayer, not a second Warrior.
