Arcane Lineage Hard Mode Is Gone — Use Trials
Normal, Hard, and Legendary were deleted in December 2025. This page exists so the old search still lands on the truth.
You searched “Arcane Lineage Hard mode” because every beginner video from 2023–2025 ended on The Soulmaster. That handshake is history. On 22 December 2025, the Soul Point reorganization removed the Normal / Hard / Legendary mode stack. The live economy uses Trials — optional restriction modifiers that multiply Soul Points and Essence. The full toggle guide is Trials. Keep this page bookmarked only as a warning label.
The Roblox thumbnail in August 2026 still says Withered Grove. Grove did not bring Hard back. New Horizons is the era name for the systems pass that deleted the slider.
What the old Hard guide used to say
Old pages told you to stay level 1 with zero Essence, die three times, talk to The Soulmaster, and pick the challenge line. That set Hard: roughly double drops, better gold, double Essence, paid healing. Legendary was one life. Normal was the tourist tax.
If a YouTube video still shows that conversation, keep the combat lesson and throw away the difficulty ending. The getting started route still wants Bounty Board, Daze, Encyclopedia, and a level 5 weapon. It no longer wants a Hard checkbox.
What to do instead in 2026
- Learn yellow on a calm Trial stack — usually no Greater trials on a first life.
- Open the Trial menu from the Soul / Spirit Domain after meditation or a wipe. Details: Trials guide.
- Add mild Lesser trials only after you can reclear packs.
- Treat Greater trials (Mortal, Light and Dark) like the old Legendary dare — second characters only.
- Spend Essence and Soul Points the same way you always should have: mats with M, Tree health first. See Essence and Soul Tree.
Hard was an economy slider. Trials are modular economy sliders with unlock gates. The timing bar did not get easier because the menu renamed itself.
Why this page still exists
Search demand for “Hard mode” did not die with the patch. Leaving a 404 teaches nothing. Leaving an unedited Hard walkthrough teaches the wrong menu. This bridge is the honest middle: name the deletion date, point at Trials, and send you back to a real task.
Creators will keep uploading Soulmaster clips because the thumbnail still converts. Your job is to recognize the outdated ending in the first thirty seconds and jump to the Trials menu instead. If a friend forwards a “must swap to Hard” Discord paste from 2024, reply with the December 2025 date and the Trials guide link. That is faster than arguing about nostalgia.

After you accept that Hard is gone, configure Trials, then play: party, a class, or a boss. Do not stand in town hunting a Soulmaster line that the client no longer offers. Do not buy a “Hard mode code.” The Codes Hub is still empty.
If a friend swears their client still shows Normal / Hard / Legendary, compare screenshots against a Discord pin the same day. Fan wikis and this page follow the December 2025 deletion. Live bugs get patched. Nostalgia menus do not count as a build. When the live tile still says Withered Grove, assume Trials are underneath it until Discord says otherwise.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
How do I unlock Hard mode in Arcane Lineage?
You cannot. Hard mode was removed in December 2025. Use the Trials menu for Soul Point and Essence multipliers instead.
Is Hard mode better for beginners?
Hard mode no longer exists. Beginners should learn the timing bar with few or no Trials enabled, then add mild Lessers.
What replaced Legendary mode?
Greater Trials such as Mortal and Light and Dark carry the old one-life dare. Enable them only on characters you can afford to lose.
Where is the Trials guide?
Open the dedicated Trials page on this wiki for unlock conditions, Greater vs Lesser seats, and a sane first stack.
